The last days of Summer #countrykids

Feeding the ducks

The end of Summer always fetches a mix of emotions. Part of me is sad that’s it’s over, another is excited about what’s to come. I love the colours of Autumn and I love Christmas.

But although I love Christmas, I don’t want to know how close it is until December, thank you very much!

I don’t have a favourite season. I like different bits about them all. I do however, love sunshine. It doesn’t matter whether it’s boiling hot, or freezing cold, I really don’t care, I just love sunbeams! It’s amazing how much the light affects your mood.

We’d planned a day out yesterday to take the kid’s minds off hubs being away and not being able to go far because he had to take the car.

Lil Miss was well put out about having to walk to school yesterday. When I told her we were walking her response was….

‘Oh. Well that’s just not good for me!’

Note to self…..less early morning work appointments and make the kids walk to school more!

Yesterday morning it looked cold, grey & miserable, but the afternoon was a complete change, the sun was belting. We were sat sweltering in the heat, and thank goodness we’d already decided to do something outside so we could make the most of it.

I’ve come to the realisation lately that no matter how much we spend on the kids, no matter where we go and what we do, they’re happiest when they’re outside and more often than not, that costs nothing!

All we did yesterday was visit our local lake. A very kind couple took pity on the kids because we’d forgotten to take bread (another note to self!) and they gave the kids half a loaf to feed the ducks. We also walked the dog, ran about and visited the park to climb the trees & play on the roundabout until we got dizzy and fell off.

Well, that was just Lil Man, but it’s ok he’s tough!

Sunshine, fresh air and lots of fun. Making the most of the last days of Summer.

I refuse to accept it’s over yet. I’m hanging on til the bitter end!!

Your right! It doesn’t have to cost a lot, just time to get the kids outdoors to have some good old fashioned fun. Feeding the ducks, parks, climbing trees and just having the space to run around and be children. Thanks for linking up, sharing your fab photos and joining in with Country Kids.

Thanks for visiting and commenting Colette ๐Ÿ™‚ So true isn’t it, I think I need to make a bit more effort this Autumn & Winter, I normally just want to snuggle up inside, but they love being out there whatever the weather!!
